Computer System Requirements
With all the talk of super fast broadband, and broadband in general,
you may be wondering whether your five year old personal computer can
access broadband. You probably have no need to worry, accessing the Internet
requires little in the way of processing power. Most computers will have
no problems accessing and running broadband Internet applications.
The following system requirements are generally needed for standard broadband.
- Windows XP or Mac OS 9.0+.
- Memory of 128 megabytes and above, system RAM.
- A hard drive with at least 150 megabytes of spare space.
- A cpu/processor which can run at 300 Mhz and above.
- An ethernet or USB hub for connection to a network device.
- A monitor.
- A CD-ROM drive to run the ISP's installation disk.
The following system requirements are generally needed for super fast
broadband.
- Windows XP or Mac OSX 10.3
- Memory of 512 megabytes and above, system RAM.
- A hard drive with at least 150 megabytes of spare space.
- A cpu/processor which can run at 2000 Mhz and above.
- An ethernet interface, it may need to be an 100 Mbps interface.
- A monitor.
- A CD-ROM drive to run the ISP's installation disk.
